I'm Patrick — a wanderer who documents. I hit the road because classrooms never quite felt like home, started writing because I was afraid of letting the stories I gathered along the way slip through my fingers, and somewhere along the way, I found myself thinking, learning, and growing.
I grew up as the internet did — came of age with social media humming in the background, and even as an adult, I've yet to find a way out from under the algorithm's thumb.
I believe in the power of long-form storytelling. A profile page can sum a person up in seconds, but a label was never meant to hold a whole human being. It takes a longer story — told from many angles — to get anywhere close to the truth of who someone is.
This is where I leave some of what I've seen and thought along the way. The writing won't always dazzle you, and I do tend to wander — both on the road and on the page. But if you've got time to spare, wander in and stay a while.
